Every sculpture starts with a conversation. That might be a favorite animal, a standing tree, or something entirely imagined. I create bespoke sculpture large and small for private clients, public spaces, and organizations
Tell Me About Your Idea
You don't need to arrive with a finished design. Tell me what you have in mind, where the sculpture will be going and roughly what size you're thinking of. If it's for a particular tree or location, photographs are extremely helpful.
If you have a budget in mind, let me know. It helps me suggest what can realistically be achieved and often opens up different possibilities for the design.
From Idea to Design
Once I understand what you're looking for, I'll start developing ideas and working towards a design that suits both you and the location.
I normally respond to enquiries quickly, but the design process itself can take a little time. Every commission is individually developed and sometimes an idea needs a few weeks to properly take shape alongside the sculptures I'm already working on.
I'd rather take the time to get an idea right than rush something simply to get a drawing in front of you.
Bringing It to Life
Once we're happy with the concept, I'll provide a clear quotation and a deposit will secure your commission.
For larger projects, payments may be divided into stages as the sculpture progresses. Depending on the commission, I may work entirely in wood or combine it with materials such as steel, resin, paint or sculpted concrete.
For tree carvings and larger installations, we'll also discuss access, preparation, installation and any ongoing maintenance the sculpture may require.
